No facility for mobile donations for Children in Need

Posted by Admin on November 14, 2008

Tonight is the BBC’s Children in Need show – the day that is characterised by us Brits showing a combination of our ‘wacky’ sense of humour and love for good causes. Normal TV programmes on the BBC will be disrupted as we get to watch normally boring newsreaders dance around in sparkly outfits, and members of the public sit in a bath of beans or shave all their body hair, all for a good cause.

Personally, I hate the TV programme and would rather watch paint dry than sit through 6 hours of this. I also hate all the enforced ‘wackiness’. That, however, doesn’t stop the cause being a good one.

Obviously the reason for all of this is to raise money which goes to support good causes and all of this so called fun is designed to get you to put your hand in your pocket and donate.

So if you’re sat at home watching it and you did put your hand in your pocket, you would more than likely find your mobile phone in there. So why has the BBC not got a way to donate by text? Surely that would be one of the easiest ways to donate and I would guess that more people have a mobile than a credit card.

Anyway, good luck if you’re watching the show. Me, I’m going to be sticking pins in my eyes instead.
