Txtspk not the end of civilisation

Posted by Admin on October 27, 2008

A team of researchers from Cornell University has found that “the emotions presented in virtual conversations are just as contagious at times as real world interaction.” Meaning that if I text you, you will be able to tell if I’m sad or not.

The research was probably done to answer parents’ arguments that ‘in our day we had real friends’ and that ‘we had real conversations’ etc etc.

Well, now if you can pull yourself away from your mobile and spare a few seconds for a ‘real-world’ conversation, you can tell your parents they are wrong and clever researchers can prove it. If you like, point them to this article on Gizmodo.
